Official SXSW Poster
This poster by Kevin Tong is pretty cool. You know, I'm a sucker for good illustration. SXSW will be distributing numbered prints and the artist will have prints for sale at his booth at the Convention Center during SXSW.

So far, the only artists that have been announced are the Ting Tings, Ed Sheeran, Cher Lloyd and Dev. Not super-impressive, but I'm sure Perez has some tricks up his sleeve.

Austin or Bust Party
The Austinist, along with The Windish Agency, Eat Your Own Ears, and the Laneway Festival, have announced the details for their day show Wednesday, March 14th at the Mohawk. The event is free, but the Austinist mentioned something about VIP guests. It's not clear how you get to be a VIP, but free Jester King beer sure sounds great!
From the Austinist:
"VIP guests at the event will feast on snacks from Chef Paul Petersen of Vivo Tex-Mex Lake Creek, sample local beer from Jester King Craft Brewery, try wines from Hope Family Wines' Liberty School line, enjoy craft vodka from Tito's, and enjoy cheeses courtesy of Whole Foods Market. Coffee will also be provided from Austin favorite Austin Java, while iced tea will be served up from our friends at Sweet Leaf Tea".

Oklahoma SXSW Parties.
Gotta give a shout out to my home state. There are a variety of parties to choose from. I've been to the Sax, Clogs & Rock and Roll event before and had a blast. There are a lot of talented musicians (and filmmakers) following in the footsteps of The Flaming Lips. Who knows, you might run into Wayne Coyne!

Urban Outfitters SXSW
Urban Outfitters always has an awesome lineup every SXSW, but it's sometimes hard to get out of the downtown/Eastside circle and head up to campus (why don't they use the downtown store?). But, with this lineup, I will have to drag my lazy ass up to Guadalupe one, two or four days. As always, these shows are free. (via)
